I had the urge to post something, so I thought I’d share these photos I took of my family last semester. They’re poor quality here, because they’re digital photos of darkroom prints. I’ll scan them for real eventually, but I felt the need to just put them out there.
I really like these. The portrats are really interesting and striking, but I especially like the middle one, which speaks to me of the energy of sleep and insomnia. I think it’s really well composed.
I don’t know how to get rid of the borders; they signify “link”, but if you click them they turn dark purple and that’s a bit less aesthetically imposing.

these are really interesting.
the total disorientation of the second image and the slight disorientation of the last, along with the repetition of the lady (grandma?) made me think about these in terms of a progression - whether that’s your intention, I don’t know. Or kind of in that space between progression and simultaneity that exists in things like dreams. The shading is gorgeous, and the sepia tone works really well with that. Especially in the second one, which is this kind of domestic topography. The textures of the blanket, the couch and the rug are hypnotic and - though this might be a result of the digitalization process here - the loss of focus on the edges of the frame really accentuates that integration of fluidity and tactility, if tactility is a word (I think it is).
Also, your apartment or house is really nicely decorated.
I think to get rid of the borders on the images, you need to edit the code of your post. I can tell you how to do it on Firefox, at least - go into edit your post, then click the tab that says “code” (as opposed to “visual”) and that’ll bring up the html. In the tags that start
img src=”…”
add the extra text
border=0
before the >.
That’s a zero, not an oh. It looks like an oh - sorry.
I think that should do it. Let me know if it doesn’t.

It’s good to be back!
