charcoal on paper, not yet titled. i don’t have dimensions on hand, but i’d say the length is close to three feet.
would a title help you approach it? same question for the piece in four panels a few posts down, if you have the time to consider it. (it’s been a wonderfully busy week on the blog… thanks, all, for so much to look at!)

actually, come to think of it, it looks like a neon sign advertising a neolithic farm implements vendor in the east willage

unfortunately, that neon-ish/orange-ish effect has more to do with the digital photo than the charcoal piece itself, which is closer to [off-]white. my skills as a digital photographer are poor, to say the least. though now that you mention it, i’m imagining a large transparency of this image mounted on a lightbox a la jeff wall. could be fun.
